Floating Living Quarters in the
Gulf of Mexico
The Challenge:
As a large, experienced engineering firm, this company had plenty of expertise in building land-based living quarters. When an opportunity arose to bid on the living quarters for an off-shore project, they knew that if they were going to land this contract, they’d need some additional help. They did not have the in-house expertise to do the HVAC system for an off-shore building.
The Solution:
Having done many offshore projects, we were the perfect partner to help them create a bid and complete the work. We were able to design the full HVAC system needed to complete the project. With our background we were able to quickly complete the requirements and fit in with their timeline and budget. Additionally, we provided the sprinkler and fire water system design for the Quarters Building.
The Results:
The larger firm was able to bid and win new business that included work they could not do on their own.
With our help, they were still able to complete the requirements on-time and on-budget.

An Earthquake Zone in Trinidad
The Challenge:
A general engineering firm won a large, international building project in Trinidad. While they had some HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design and consulting to ensure compliance with the special considerations and codes of an international earthquake zone.

They contracted with us to provide the HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design and consulting to ensure compliance with the special considerations and codes of an international earthquake zone.
The Results:
This larger firm was able to subcontract these portions of the design to us without introducing us to the client.
We were their seamless part of their team, helping them to quickly complete this project while maintaining their trust with the client.

Unique Filtration System for a Major Refinery
The Challenge:
This project not only went well beyond the in-house expertise of this engineering firm, but even beyond the building experience of the contractor. The job required a design for a unique purafil chemical filtration system that would keep chlorine from entering the building. This was something new to the firm and even unfamiliar to the contractor. They needed a specialty engineering firm that was not only capable of creating the design, but that could standby during construction to help trouble shoot integration issues and assist with construction administration services.
The Solution:
We have enough specialty expertise in plumbing, HVAC and fire water systems that we can approach even a unique, technical or safety challenge and still provide a comprehensive, compliant, high-quality design.
The Results:
We provided not only the highly technical specifications and design for the filtration and HVAC systems, but also provided standby technical support during construction to trouble shoot integration issues and assist with construction administration services.
Beyond the filtration system, we also designed a 100% redundant HVAC system for servicing the switch building.
